Privacy Policy

What we collect, how we use it, and how to reach us.

Effective: 2026-08-01

SiteLine Consulting is a small remote construction project-management practice. We collect the smallest amount of information needed to reply to your inquiry, and we don't share it with anyone outside our team. This page describes exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and how to ask us to access or delete it.

1. What we collect on the consultation form (/intake)

When you submit the consultation form we collect the following fields — exactly as you typed them:

2. How we use it

The information you submit is used in three specific ways, and only these three:

3. Quick-capture forms (lead strip, footer, exit-intent popup)

If you drop just your email into one of the lighter forms on the site (the mid-page "Get the Checklist" strip, the footer "Stay in the loop" subscribe box, or the exit-intent popup offering the Construction Budget Checklist), we collect your name (where shown) and email, plus a source value of strip, footer, or popup so we know which form you used. We use these to send you the resource you asked for and an occasional project tip — no other marketing.

If the Estimator early-access overlay appears as you leave a page, we collect your email, the page URL you were on, and the three utm_* parameters (when present). We use these only to send a heads-up the next time Estimator access opens — no other marketing.

4. What we collect automatically (server analytics)

Every page load records one row in our internal page_views table with the page path, the referring URL, your browser's user-agent string, and a SHA-256 hash of your IP address. The raw IP is never stored — only the one-way hash. We use this to understand which pages people find useful. The /admin path and the /health endpoint are excluded from this logging.

5. Analytics: GA4 and the cta_variant dimension

The site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure overall traffic. To run an A/B test on the Estimator hero call-to-action, we set a server-sticky cookie called sl_cta_variant that buckets you into either variant A or variant B for about a year. The variant ID is sent to GA4 as a custom dimension called cta_variant alongside the generate_estimate event, so we can measure which version of the button gets more clicks. The cookie is HttpOnly (it isn't readable by page scripts) and the test is off by default — it only runs when the site operator enables the feature flag.

6. UTM capture

If you arrive at the site from a tagged campaign — for example an email newsletter, a paid ad, or a partner link — the URL will carry ?utm_source=…&utm_medium=…&utm_campaign=… query parameters. The consultation form reads those values on page load and pre-fills the three hidden utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign inputs so the values travel with your submission. We store them alongside your inquiry so we can attribute which campaigns produce real conversations, not just clicks.

7. How long we keep your information

Consultation-form inquiries are kept for 24 months from the date you submit. Quick-capture email subscriptions are kept for 90 days unless you become an active client. Server analytics rows (hashed IP + path) are retained for 13 months to support year-over-year traffic comparisons. You can ask us to delete your information earlier than any of these windows — see the contact section below.

8. Your data: access, correction, and deletion

You can request a copy of what we have on file, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request to the address below from the email address you originally submitted with, and we'll action it within 10 business days. There is no charge.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about how we collect or use your information, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change on the consultation confirmation page. Previous versions are available on request.
